The Opportunity

A private bank in Monaco is looking to add a Senior Compliance Officer to lead its AML/CFT, sanctions and ethics framework, reporting directly to the Head of Compliance.

The mandate covers the full AML/CFT perimeter, including KYC, UBO, PEP screening, sanctions and embargoes, transaction monitoring, investigations, and suspicious activity reports to the AMSF. The role also validates sensitive client onboarding and higher risk transactions, leads second line of defence controls, and acts as the reference point on sensitive files across the private banking network.

The successful candidate brings deep familiarity with Monaco's regulatory environment and AMSF expectations, along with genuine private banking domain knowledge covering HNWI and UHNWI KYC, trust and company structures, and life insurance wrappers. This is a hands-on, technical role with real influence over how the bank manages non-compliance risk.

What You Bring

The profile that succeeds in this mandate.

  • 17 to 10 years of compliance experience within a private bank or wealth management firm, ideally in Monaco or a comparable centre such as Luxembourg or Switzerland
  • 2Strong command of the Monaco AML/CFT framework and AMSF expectations, with a solid understanding of FATF standards and international sanctions
  • 3Fluent French and English, an additional language is an advantage
